遺世界： summoned too late

Ah, the Isekai genre. From the Japanese classics like Escaflowne and Fushigi Yuugi to the Western classics like Neverending Story or Narnia; from the modern, game-centric takes like SAO and Overlord to the parodies like Konosuba;  from the violence-free takes like Honzuki no Gekokujou, to the clever deconstructions like Re:Zero and Shield Hero. Being summoned to another world to save it from doom has a certain appeal; at the same time, you get to see a whole different world, and also to be a hero, and all that comes with that.

The world of Nyltavr has been summoning heroes from our world for a very long time, to save it from the uncanny threats that for some reason keep popping up there. But recently something has changed. Maybe the people of Nyltavr are maturing and want to take care of themselves without help. Or maybe it was something more sinister… one way or another, this time, when the hero (you) is summoned, they find… not exactly a warm welcome.
